UNDP Kyrgyzstan participates in a number of joint programmes at the country level such as:
Joint UN Support for UN Coordination Specialist
The project established a coordination mechanism to facilitate effective and efficient collaboration among participating UN agencies. The UN Coordination Specialist, in support of the UN Resident Coordinator, reinforces the UN Country Team (UNCT) to support development, monitoring and evaluation of national strategies and commitments to backstop UN support for the implementation of the Country Development Strategy, to develop and implement joint programmes, to monitor progress towards the MDGs and global conferences, to assist the UNCT to mainstream human rights and gender sensitivity into its work, to engage with civil society and to assist agencies without country presences to access national systems and processes.

Enhancing Disaster Response Coordination in the Kyrgyz Republic
This project aims to strengthen cooperation and coordination for disaster response among the government, UNCT, Swiss Development Cooperation, Red Cross and Red Crescent Movements, and other major actors in this field to be able to respond adequately and effectively to emergency situations.

Joint UN Support for the Country’s Response to HIV/AIDS
This programme aims to support the Government of Kyrgyzstan in the further implementation of the Strategic Document on HIV/AIDS Prevention for 2006-2010, based on UNAIDS Technical Division of Labor. UN has an opportunity to speak with one voice through its strong position in a special Country Multisectoral Coordination Committee, which includes most national and several international agencies dealing with HIV/AIDS. The Joint UN Team on AIDS, under the leadership of the UNAIDS Programme Officer, serves as a professional team providing technical and advisory support to the UN Theme Group on HIV/AIDS.
