Capacity Building of the State Directorate for Early Recovery Post-crisis Needs Assessment, Recovery Planning and Restoration of Osh and Jalal-Abad Cities and Affected Settlements of the Kyrgyz Republic Send Print

After April-June events the UNDP Democratic Governance Programme (DGP) launched new outputs that are implemented in 2010 (second half) and 2011 (first half).  DGP is planning to assist in building capacities of the newly established State Directorate on Restoration and Development of Osh and Jalal-Abad cities and support it in development of general plans of two cities and support it in development of general plans of two cities, the early Recovery Strategy and Action Plan for its implementation.

Existence of such Recovery Strategy and Action Plan on its implementation at the start of rehabilitation activties in southern provinces will promote implementation of the recovery activities in the affected provinces in a a planned, right and effective way, will promote reconciliation process, confidence building for restoration of better living conditions and social and physical recovery, reduce inter-ethnic tensions. The effective and efficient lead of recovery works by the State Directorate will bring to rapidd re-launch of people's livelihoods.
